**Man Fatally Attacked by Pit Bull in New Dorp Home**
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 59-year-old man was fatally attacked by a pit bull at a residence in New Dorp on Sunday night, police reported.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 7 p.m. at 608 New Dorp Lane, according to preliminary information provided by an NYPD spokesperson. Upon arrival, they found the man with severe dog bite wounds to his body.
FDNY/EMS personnel responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.
An NYPD Emergency Services Unit removed the pit bull from the home and transported the animal to the ASPCA, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the incident.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
