Cameron Roche scored a game-high 21 points and Bria Charles added 16 as Westwood cruised to a 56-27 victory over Fort Lee on Tuesday in Washington Township, winning its fifth straight game.
Westwood (9-3) set the tone early, jumping out to a commanding 22-3 lead after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 36-5 by halftime. The team continued its strong play in the third quarter, outscoring Fort Lee 17-13 before Fort Lee (5-8) won the final period 9-3.
Roche was efficient from the field, connecting on six 2-pointers and three 3-pointers. Charles contributed four three-pointers and two 2-point field goals while also recording a game-high five steals.
Westwood’s balanced attack featured strong playmaking with 19 assists as a team, led by Leah Olives with five and Jules Batelli with four. Westwood also dominated the glass, collecting 23 rebounds with Payton Nese grabbing a team-high five boards.
On the Fort Lee side, Jacqueline Martinez led with eight points, followed by Giselle Lee with seven and Samantha Song with six. Song hit two 3-pointers to account for all of her scoring.
The Bridgemen struggled against Westwood’s defense, which generated an impressive 19 steals in the contest.
