**Impairment Believed to Be Factor in Fatal Phoenix Collision**

PHOENIX — Impairment is believed to be a contributing factor in a collision that left a woman dead Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The Phoenix Police Department identified the deceased as 29-year-old Tianna Marie Jones.

According to police, officers responded to the area of 35th and Northern avenues for a two-vehicle collision around 6:53 a.m.

The Phoenix Fire Department also arrived on the scene and transported the male driver of the first vehicle to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Jones, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, was also taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The adult male driving the second vehicle was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary information from police indicates that the first vehicle, carrying Jones, was traveling northbound on 35th Avenue when it collided with the second vehicle, which was traveling southbound on 35th Avenue.

The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
