Casey Wasserman Apologizes for Racy Emails with Convicted Sex Trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell

LOS ANGELES — Casey Wasserman, chair of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics organizing committee, has issued an apology following the release of a series of racy emails exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking for her role in the extensive sexual abuse scandal linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein, was at the center of a renewed public scrutiny as new documents were made public.

Wasserman’s name surfaced when the latest batch of Epstein-related documents was released on Friday by the U.S. Department of Justice as part of its ongoing investigation. Epstein died in a jail cell in August 2019 from an apparent suicide while awaiting trial on federal charges.

The former financier was accused of procuring underage girls to perform sexual favors for various influential millionaires and billionaires at his private island. The newly disclosed emails reveal a number of salacious exchanges between Wasserman and Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 on federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy for assisting Epstein in his crimes.

Wasserman expressed regret over the correspondence, saying, “I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light.” He also denied any direct ties to Epstein, stating, “I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”

The emails, dating back to 2003, include flirtatious remarks from both parties. Wasserman wrote about wanting to see Maxwell in a “tight leather outfit,” while Maxwell offered to give him a massage that could “drive man wild.”

Casey Wasserman, 51, is the founder and CEO of Wasserman, a prominent sports marketing and talent agency. He is also the grandson of legendary Hollywood agent Lew Wasserman. Despite the controversy, he is expected to travel with the LA28 delegation to Milan, Italy next week for the Winter Olympics.
