Greta Thunberg Alleges Torture in Israeli Detention After Gaza Flotilla Arrest
Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has accused Israeli authorities of kidnapping and torturing her and other detainees during their arrest related to the Gaza flotilla. Thunberg was part of the Global Sumud Flotilla, a mission aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The claim was made following her detention by Israeli forces, a move that the Israeli Foreign Ministry has firmly denied.
Thunberg was apprehended during the flotilla operation and later arrived in Athens, Greece. Her gesture upon arrival at the Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport was captured on October 6, 2025.
