How to Get and Use Free Loadout Augments in ARC Raiders
Free Loadout Augments are one of the best mechanics in ARC Raiders, adding depth to an already rich gameplay experience. These augments serve more than just a quick entry tool for raids—they provide a constant goal to work towards, even when you have minimal resources left.
What Are Free Loadout Augments?
True to their name, you receive a Free Loadout Augment every time you run a raid using a Free Loadout. To access this option, simply select it at the top of your Ready Up screen. When you do, all your custom gear is sent to your Inventory and replaced with a random, low-quality set of gear that comes with limited resources.
Keep in mind, you cannot change your Augments while inside a raid, which means you’ll have to manage with smaller inventory space and weaker shields until you successfully extract.
Extracting and Managing Your Free Loadout Augments
It’s important to note that Free Loadout Augments only become useful once you extract back to Speranza. After extraction, you can go into your Inventory and move the augment to your stash. From there, you have the option to replace it with any other Augment you possess.
If you don’t have any other Augments yet, don’t worry. Free Loadout Augments can be exchanged at the Lance Trader, where you can swap a Free Loadout Augment for one of three green-rarity Augments. For most early-game activities, the Loot Augment is recommended. While it offers minimal protection, it significantly increases your backpack space, allowing you to gather a larger quantity of loot—provided you survive the raid!
Additional Notes
Unfortunately, there is no alternative way to obtain Free Loadout Augments. ARC Raiders does not feature a player-to-player market, so purchasing augments is not an option. Additionally, you cannot craft them yourself.
This limitation isn’t too restrictive, however, since failed raids with a Free Loadout still allow you to rejoin quickly and without cost, giving you more opportunities to earn new Free Loadout Augments.
