Pokémon Pokopia: Release Date Confirmed for March 5, 2026
Pokémon Pokopia, the first-ever Pokémon lifestyle simulation game, was initially revealed in September 2025. Originally slated for a 2026 release window, Nintendo has now officially announced that the game will launch on March 5, 2026.
The announcement came through a post on X, Nintendo’s social media platform. While no new trailer, screenshots, or additional game details accompanied the release date reveal, fans now know that Pokémon Pokopia will be arriving on the upcoming Switch 2 console in early March.
In Pokémon Pokopia, players take on the role of Ditto, a shapeshifting Pokémon. Ditto assumes a human-like form and uses its unique ability to harness the powers of various Pokémon. Players will use these abilities to shape the land, grow crops, and construct buildings, immersing themselves in a brand-new gameplay experience within the Pokémon universe.
The game was first introduced during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct and is currently being developed by Koei Tecmo. It is confirmed to be a Switch 2 exclusive.
Pokémon Pokopia joins other major titles releasing in March 2026, such as 007 First Light and Saros, promising an exciting lineup for the new console’s early days. Additionally, 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, which will be celebrated in February, making it a monumental year for fans worldwide.
