The Panthers have brought backup quarterback Mike White back to their practice squad. Although White was briefly released over the weekend to make room for another roster transaction, the plan was always to bring him back, and they have now done so, according to Darin Gantt of Panthers.com.
Bryce Young remains the Panthers’ starting quarterback, with Andy Dalton serving as the backup. Mike White is now available potentially to serve as the third emergency quarterback.
White was a 2018 fifth-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys and has also spent time with the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. The most noteworthy portion of his career came in 2021 and 2022 with the Jets, when he started seven games.
