How to Complete the Broken Monument Quest in ARC Raiders
Some quests in ARC Raiders, like Broken Monument, provide only minimal details about what you need to find or do. This can be challenging, especially if time is running out before the round ends. To help you out, here’s a complete guide covering everything you need to know to finish the Broken Monument quest successfully.
Quest Overview
To complete the Broken Monument quest, you need to:
- Head to the Scrap Yard on the Dam Battlegrounds.
- Locate three somewhat hidden caches.
- Extract with the contents of these caches—all within a single round.
Because everything must be done in one round, you cannot complete the objectives piecemeal across multiple rounds. Also, if you spawn up north near the Power Generation Complex or the Ruby Residences, you’ll need to make your way south past several high-value loot areas to reach the Scrap Yard. In my experience, it’s best to tackle this and any other one-round quests when you have a favorable spawn point. This makes getting in and out with quest items much quicker and easier.
Main Objectives
There are four main objectives in the Broken Monument quest. The final objective is simply to return the three quest-specific items to Tian Wen, which happens automatically if you return to Speranza with all the items in your possession.
- Reach the hallowed grounds by the Scrap Yard (located in the northwestern portion of the zone).
- Search for a compass near broken-down vehicles.
- Search for a video tape near cylindrical containers.
- Search for old field rations in the Raider camp.
Where to Find the Compass Near the Broken-Down Vehicles
The compass was the hardest of the three items for me to find. Look for a set of rounded, oblong trucks with a blue broken-down car on one end and a pair of overturned cargo containers on the other.
The small container holding the compass is tucked in a narrow space between these trucks, cargo containers, and the car. A helpful landmark nearby is a large spherical structure located just south of this area. Further south from the sphere, you’ll find a small container truck cab.
Where to Find the Video Tape Near the Cylindrical Containers
The crate containing the video tape is northeast of the broken-down vehicles, close to two cylindrical containers. These containers are near another pair of oblong trucks, which sometimes can be breached.
The best waypoint to find this crate is a nearby car that will sound an alarm if you get too close. To locate the crate, go directly east of the alarm car, pass through the opening between the two oblong trucks, and you’ll find the crate with the tape.
Where to Find the Old Field Rations in the Raider Camp
The crate with the old field rations is located in the far north of the Scrap Yard. You’ll need to enter a tubular structure to reach and interact with the crate.
The Raider camp resembles a field depot but lacks blue tarps, antennae, and other mechanical parts. It should be visible from various spots in the Scrap Yard when you head north from the main area.
Extracting and Completing the Quest
Once you have interacted with each crate and collected the quest items, you must extract with all three. Alternatively, keep them in your safe pouch if you happen to die.
Because all three quest-specific items need to be kept together, only purple-rarity Augments are acceptable for the safe pouch in this case.
After extraction, you’ll see a checkmark next to the quest icon in the after-action report. You can then claim your rewards by speaking to Tian Wen in the Traders menu back in Speranza.
