This week, exciting news dropped about the continuation of the *Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves* first season pass. Following the release of Ken from *Street Fighter*, the next planned fighter for Season Pass 1 is none other than SNK’s Muay Thai specialist and classic *Fatal Fury* character, Joe Higashi.
SNK recently shared a trailer showcasing Joe in action, highlighting his wide array of moves including Tiger Kicks, Tiger Knees, and Hurricane Uppers. The trailer also confirmed that Joe Higashi will be arriving sometime this Fall 2025. You can catch the official trailer on SNK’s YouTube channel.
Joe Higashi has been a series regular since the very first *Fatal Fury* game, serving as the de facto Muay Thai combatant within SNK’s roster. Known for his brash personality and confidence, Joe brings rapid punches, tornado projectiles, and a powerful mix of straight, rising, and overhead kicks to the fight.
Interestingly, since Preecha is Joe’s disciple, his fighting style had some representation in *City of the Wolves*. However, like Andy Bogard, Joe returns with his original *Fatal Fury* move set, enhanced with a few new tricks. Notable new additions include an advancing double knee normal and a fast-looking overhead EX elbow—both promising to add fresh options to his already well-rounded pressure game.
Classic staples of Joe’s kit are also present. The Bakuretsuken rapid punch combo, Tiger Knee anti-air, and Tiger Kick all made an appearance in the trailer. However, one curious omission was a normal version of his classic Hurricane Upper, which didn’t show up. It will be interesting to see if this iconic move makes a comeback when Joe officially launches.
