
MANILA, Philippines — The government’s budget deficit increased by 56 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching ₱84.8 billion in August. This rise was primarily driven by a decline in revenues.
Data from the Bureau of the Treasury revealed that revenues contracted by nearly 9 percent, amounting to ₱352 billion.
