Arshad Warsi’s extended cameo as Ghafoor in the Netflix series *The Bads of Bollywood* has become a major talking point recently. In a candid interview, Warsi opened up about how his look for the role was conceptualized by director Aryan Khan, inspired by Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic character in *Raees*. Surprisingly, Warsi revealed that he accepted the role without even hearing the script or knowing much about his character.
**Instant Agreement Without a Script**
Warsi shared with Mid-Day, “When Aryan said he needed me for two days, I simply asked, ‘When do you want me to come?’ Then he tried selling the role to me. I did it without hearing the script or my role. I love Shah Rukh and his family. The amount Shah Rukh has done for the film industry, I think it owes him!”
**Character and Popularity**
One of the highlights of Warsi’s character, Ghafoor, is his entry song, which quickly became a sensation among viewers. Warsi said, “Wherever I enter now, they start playing the song. It’s because of the song that my character has become so popular.” He credited Aryan Khan’s vision for the quirky and unique character, expressing full trust in the director’s creative approach.
**Father-Son Comparison and On-Set Experience**
Working closely with Aryan Khan, Warsi noticed many similarities between the young director and his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan. “Aryan is also hard-working like his father. Also, they both don’t sleep. The abundant energy they have is unbelievable,” he remarked. Shah Rukh himself visited the set during filming and even shared ideas to help shape Warsi’s role. “The day SRK directs, he will be a very good director,” Warsi added.
**What’s Next for Arshad Warsi?**
Looking ahead, Arshad Warsi will be seen portraying a serious cop in *Bhagwat Chapter One: Rakshas*, directed by Akshay Shere. “After *Seher*, this is the first time I’m playing a serious cop,” he revealed. The upcoming ZEE5 film also stars *Panchayat* fame Jitendra Kumar.
Meanwhile, *The Bads of Bollywood* features a star-studded cast including Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Lakshya, and Raghav Juyal. The series was released on Netflix in September and continues to gather praise for its unique storytelling and performances.
