**Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh):** The two-day ‘3rd All India Sindhi Theatre Festival’ commenced on Saturday at Bharat Bhavan, featuring the staging of three plays. The festival is jointly organized by the Madhya Pradesh Sindhi Akademi, the Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad, and Bharat Bhavan in memory of the late veteran theatre personality Sunder Agnani.
The first play, *Sen Jo Tiffin*, directed by Nandani Panjwani and written by Ashok Manwani, was presented by actors from Jyoti Kala Sansthan, Jaipur. The play humorously explores why, in today’s modern age—where railway stations offer facilities such as food plazas, pantry cars, and online food delivery—people still prefer to order lunch from relatives, particularly their in-laws. It centers on a man who repeatedly requests his in-laws to deliver lunch to him at the railway station, only to find himself caught in the same predicament he has been creating for others over the years.
The second play, *Dhudi Pati Retire Thi*, written by Kishore Lalwani and directed by Tulsi Setia, revolves around the life of a retired elderly man whose routine is upended after leaving his job, portraying the challenges of adjustment faced during retirement.
The third presentation, *Pea-Pyaado Putra Shahzaado*, directed by Ashok Bulani, depicts the conflict between the mindset of today’s youth and the expectations imposed by their parents, highlighting generational differences.
In addition to the theatrical performances, senior theatre personality Ashok Boolani was honored with the Sunder Agnani Smriti Samman for his significant contributions to the field.
