Former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe has reacted to the latest viral news involving Shilo Sanders after a waitress trolled him for tipping $50. The incident has divided netizens, with many supporting Sanders while others sided with the waitress.
Sharpe came to Sanders’ defense on his show, *Nightcap*, which he co-hosts with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. The three-time Super Bowl champion said (1:40:53):
“Now a lot of times you go to places, the tip, the gratuity, is already included. I mean, when they bring you room service, the service charge is already included, and they think they want tip. And I got a tip for you. Don’t eat egg salad and ride the bus. That please don’t, because I ain’t got nothing for you. How do I go to self-checkout, and they talk about tip? I’m checking myself out, and you want me to leave a tip. Okay. I call get takeout, you want… what did you do? All you do is bring up my order, and you want a tip? Man, y’all better get out my face. So you want 18% service charge and a tip on top of it. Man, they doing too much.”
### Shilo Sanders’ Life After the NFL
Since being waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August, Shilo Sanders has embraced a lifestyle focused on content creation. The Colorado alum went undrafted in this year’s NFL Draft but signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent.
Sanders received playing time during the preseason, including a game against the Buffalo Bills on August 23. However, the former Jackson State star was ejected after punching Bills’ tight end Zach Davidson. Following the incident, the NFL fined Sanders $4,669, and the Bucs subsequently waived him.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles was clear about the incident, stating:
“You can’t throw punches in this league. I mean, that’s inexcusable. They’re gonna get you every time. Gotta grow from that.”
Fortunately for Shilo Sanders, plans outside of football are already in the works. According to his father, Deion Sanders:
“We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team, but if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward for what he’s going to do next.”
Meanwhile, Shilo’s younger brother, Shedeur Sanders, continues to await a playing opportunity with the Cleveland Browns.
